I have read all the papers, and eventually we should ... observations ... I should like to ... in detail support the Case, as I happen to have had personal acquaintance with it.
At present I think it would be more convenient if I merely drew the attention of His Excellency to the fact that Mr Boudler in his Report of 26th Instant states "neither did I inform Mr Coughtrie of what I had seen."
Under the circumstances I did not consider it advisable to name the matter to him, alluding to the stones which he alleges were the cause of the disaster. And, he contends, to have been placed by Mr Coughtrie's servants so as to work ...
